They were originally formulated as facial massage oils so are used during Natroma Aromatherapy Facial treatments.  These organic botanical oils, with the addition of Co-enzyme Q10, provide anti-oxidant properties, that refine the texture of the skin, improving hydration, elasticity and suppleness.  I find that customers are sometimes nervous about using oil serums on their face – they think it will make their oily skin feel even worse.  Nothing could be further from the truth, since by massaging botanical oils into the skin, it balances and regularises the production of sebum (the skin’s natural oils).  Natroma's Q10 Oil Serum won natural beauty award in 2017.

The Q10 Moisturisers were formulated for my own skin as it aged (i.e. the joy of menopause!)  They are packed with great skincare ingredients including Q10, hyaluronic acid, Siberian ginseng, lupine peptides, pseudo collagen, pomegranate extract and vitamin E.  These ingredients help to maintain skin hydration and promote softness and elasticity and this helps to fight off the development of fine lines and wrinkles.  It was at menopause that I finally understood why my customers had been complaining of skin dryness, uncomfortable tightness, irritation and break outs.  So the Q10 Moisturiser was formulated to help me cope and thankfully it's helped many other people too!

Why are there two Q10 Oil Serum varieties?

The first is our original formulation, which was developed to give the skin a velvety softness without any oily residue.  It suits all skin types.  The Q10 Plus was developed a couple of years later in response to customers who had drier skin and felt they needed a little more help.  The Plus is very similar to the original formulation but we've added some deeply penetrating organic avocado and macadamia oils.  The Plus quickly became a favourite (with all ages and skin types) - it's slightly heavier at first but is quickly sinks in to provide deeper moisturising benefits.  Many Natroma customers use the Plus in the evening and the standard oil serum during the day.  Others use the standard version during the summer and switch to the Plus in the winter.  The beauty of these products is that they both work beautifully, but you can use both adapting your skincare regime to suit your skin. 

We always advise that you check your skin every day and adapt your skincare regime as needed.  e.g. You're feeling dry, so add in some facial massage moves and use the Plus facial serum.  You're feeling oily, so try a double cleanse or perhaps add in a rhassoul clay mask and clarify with hydrolats that day.  You know your own skin, so don't be tempted to keep using the same products every day.  It's important to pay attention to how it feels and adapt your Natroma product use to suit hormonal changes, the seasons, ill health etc.  If you listen to what your skin is telling you every day, you'll prevent dryness and breakouts etc.     

How to use our Natroma Q10 Oil Serums

To use simply dispense 1-3 drops onto the fingertips, then gently smooth onto the skin with light massaging strokes.  Depending on how much oil has been used it will take a minute or so for the oil to penetrate the skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and velvety after use.  If you find the skin feels oily afterwards, you’ve used too much – as with all Natroma products, they are highly concentrated so try using fewer drops next time.

We created our Q10 Facial Oil serums so you could enjoy your own special aromatherapy facial every day.   Both oil serums can be used at night as an alternative to a night cream, or as a pre-treatment before applying your moisturiser, or perhaps if your skin is feeling really dry and tight why not try both?  We package the serum in a dropper bottle so you can use as much or a little as you need – so it may be just 1 drop during the summer, increasing to 2-3 drops during the winter months when the skin needs more hydration.  In this way you can customise your skincare regime to suit the changing seasons and your personal requirements.  We find that most people aren’t used to the earthy aroma of organic botanical oils.   So this facial oil does have a slightly musky aroma and we’ve added some decadence too, by adding the most expensive aromatherapy grade essential oils of Rose, Neroli, Jasmine, Sandalwood and Frankincense.  It’s a real treat for the senses and as ever with Natroma, our Q10 Oil Serum is a concentrated, luxurious facial product without the expensive price tag!  We'd suggest that organic oils like our Q10 Facial Oil serum are stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
