We're having these made for us (we're too busy making our skincare to venture into candle making!), and contain only natural plant waxes - a blend of soy wax with a little rapeseed oil.  They do not contain palm oil and are a plant based alternative to petroleum derived paraffin wax candles.  They are free from animal derived ingredients (such as beeswax) so our candles are vegan friendly.  They are clean burning, additive free and are not tested on animals. Our soy wax candles are available in 2 sizes - votive candle (these smaller sizes will burn for approximately 25 hours) and a larger glass candle (it burn for approximately 40-45 hours).  

Natroma Glass Container Soy Wax Candles

Each candle has been poured by hand, and contains a cotton wick with a paper core.  Because our candles are made with soy wax they are slow burning which makes them last.  These larger glass container candles should burn for approximately 45 hours.  They are uncoloured candles without any additives.  We have selected 12 fragrances for customers to try.  There are 6 pure essential oil candles (completely natural aromas) and 6 with a blend of essential oils enhanced with fragrance oils.   As with all natural wax candles, soy wax can pull away from glass containers (it's known as wet spots in the candle industry) and there may be some surface frosting.  These variations in appearance are perfectly normal and have no impact on how the candle will burn.

Please note that pure essential oil candles will not smell as strongly as candles that contain fragrance oils.  They have a nature, more subtle, softer aroma which is just lovely!  Also bear in mind that to fill a large space with aroma you would need several candles - it would be optimistic to use just a small votive candle in a large room.  If you require a stronger aroma, we suggest that you either light more than one candle at a time or use one of the LED ultrasonic diffusers to diffuse essential oils instead.

Our natural soy wax candles are supplied in recycled glass containers, packaged in recycled cardboard boxes and each box is decorated with a ribbon.  Each candle should achieve a full burn pool after 2-3 hours (this is where the wax melts out to the glass container).  We advise you to allow enough time for the candle to melt to the glass when you burn your candle for the first time.  This allows the wax will re-solidify in an even layer as your candle burns down, and this uses up all of the wax.  If the candle doesn't achieve the full width melt, it can tunnel leaving behind wax on the side of the glass at each subsequent lighting.  This can waste wax and means the candle cannot achieve it's full burn time. 

Between uses, remember to trim the candle wick to approximately 1/4 inch.  If a candle smokes or burns unevenly it's usually because the wick is too long.

We are also offering the option to purchase a polished steel lid with our candles - these are available in 2 sizes.  We have decided not to add these automatically, since it would increase the cost of each candle and may force customers into purchasing something they may not need.  Our view is that you'll only need so many covers to keep the dust out of the candles you're using, so you can simply purchase as many as you need and then re-use them.  It's much better for the environment too!
