Real Ale Handmade Soap in aid of Prostate Cancer UK
We'd like to thank everyone who purchased this soap. We realise it wasn't the most popular variety, and it took us a few years to sell these charity bars. So we added to the amount that was raised by the sale of this soap, and have made a donation of £500 to Prostate Cancer UK. Our thanks for your support!
Luxury beer soap, specially formulated as our charity soap to support Prostate Cancer UK. This soap has special meaning for us, since it has been created in memory of Sarah's Dad who lost his fight with this awful disease some years ago. We will be donating £1 to Prostate Cancer UK for every 100g bar that's sold.
Contains the award winning Enville Ale, a traditional real ale that contains honey. We're grateful to the Enville Brewery near to Stourbridge, who have very kindly donated their ale in support of our fund raising efforts. Our Real Ale soap has a rich, bubbly lather that's a little different to our usual goats milk soaps. Each bar contains lots of real ale, so it may be a good choice for anyone who'd like to use our soap as a natural shampoo. (Although we'd always suggest that shampoo is best, if lots of silicone containing products are used to style the hair). The recipe also contains rhassoul clay, so this would make this soap suitable for use as a shaving soap too. The main ingredients are organic olive oil, coconut oil and palm oils (from a sustainable source so it doesn't damage the environment), enriched with organic cocoa and shea butters and other organic oils. Inspired by the real ale aroma, we have blended cedarwood, patchouli and sweet orange essential oils, to give the soap a lovely malty, woody aroma. As with our goats milk soaps, Enville is suitable for use on sensitive or troubled skin types and has a rich moisturising lather.
Like our goats milk soaps, these real ale bars have the same hard formulation which doesn't get soft if it's allowed to dry between uses. They are handmade using a traditional cold-process production method before being poured into wooden moulds. Like a fine cheese, natural soap needs to be cured before it is ready for use and we allow at least 6-8 weeks before each bar is prepared for sale. The soap continues to become milder as it ages and has a shelf life of over 3 years. You'll find that our soaps are labelled as 100g, but most bars are usually heavier than this since we make them larger to allow for the curing and natural shrinkage. Each bar is packaged with a film wrapper, covered with a parchment paper wrapper.
Organic base ingredients: saponified olea europaea (olive), cocus nucifera (coconut), elaeis guieensis (sustainable RSPO palm), theobroma cocao (cocoa butter), butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond), with Enville Ale, honey, rhassoul clay, cedarwood, patchouli and sweet orange essential oils.
