Information

Our pure salts are packaged in re-sealable kraft pouches which have an inner plastic liner and are lovely to use as a natural foot and body soak.  These natural salts do not have any added fragrance and are perfect to add to the water when taking a long relaxing bath.  We have found these are very popular with customers who have sensitive skin and are looking for an unscented addition to their natural skincare regime.  For a concentrated therapeutic bath, we'd recommend using the entire pouch in a single bath.  However some customers have found that adding several spoonful's of salts to their bath or in a footbath still gives good results and allows them to take 2-4 baths from each pouch.

We'd recommend that these salts are added to warm bath water (that's not too hot), so you can enjoy relaxing in the water for at least 20-30 minutes.  This will allow the salts to soften the water, and give the best benefits to the skin.

Please note that due to the weight of these items, there is a delivery surcharge of 50p per bag of salts for postal deliveries.  The surcharge is not added on orders for Click & Collect.

Available in the following varieties:

Pure Sea Salts - 375 g pouch

These are pure sea salts, full of natural minerals and trace elements, and are nice for softening bath water for comfortable, gentle bathing.  Many people use sea salt to soothe dry and itchy skin conditions.  Sea salt can also be used to gently exfoliate the skin - why not try dry brushing the skin before bathing and then gently massage a small amount of salt over the skin while you bathe or shower.

Epsom Salts BP grade - 300g pouch

With a long history as a natural remedy, bathing in Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) is great for gently relaxing the joints and muscles perhaps when they're feeling tired, stiff or sore.  The magnesium content is said to aid relaxation leading to a more restful nights sleep, and this is why Epsom salts have been used as a remedy for overcoming jet lag.  Many famous celebrities are taking Epsom salt baths, since they are reputed to detox the skin and reduce water retention.  We'd recommend using Epsom salts in a foot bath - it relaxes tired legs and feet and also helps to soften hardened skin so it can be removed more easily.  Some people also use Epsom salts on their hair, by adding a small amount to their shampoo.  Epsom salts are said to remove excess oil and help the hair feel more full and bouncy....so why not give it a try!

Himalayan Salts - 300g pouch - choose coarse or fine

These naturally pink salts are full of natural minerals - as many as 84 minerals and elements in a slightly wider variety than standard sea salts.    Himalayan salt is millions of years old, and is mined as solid crystals from salt caves in the Himalayan mountains.  Like other salts it can be used in the bath and has similar properties to Dead Sea salts.  However many people prefer to use Himalayan salt in their salt grinders, to gain the mineral benefits in their diet rather than using refined table salt.  Some people also add Himalayan salts to a basin of warm water (make sure it's not too hot) to gently inhale for sinus decongestion.

Dead Sea Salts - 300g pouch

Dead Sea salts are full of natural minerals and trace elements - magnesium, calcium, potassium and zinc to name but a few.  These minerals are skin-kind so help with removing toxins, cleansing and toning the skin, relieving muscular tension, and aiding relaxation.  It's perfectly normal for Dead Sea salts to look slightly creamy/dirty looking due to the naturally occurring minerals.  Dead Sea salts are particularly suitable for anyone who has eczema or psoriasis, since the high mineral content from the Dead Sea area has a track record of softening the skin and soothing skin irritations.  Research has been carried out on psoriasis, where bathing in Dead Sea salts has improved these conditions when a higher concentration of Dead Sea Salt (at least 2% and up to 10% ) is added to the bathing water.  On smaller patches of eczema and psoriasis some of our customers have tried adding Dead Sea salts to a basin of warm water, and soaking the affected area for 20 minutes before gently patting dry.

I have been using Himalayan Salts for about 3 years which I had to order on the internet and now able to buy them locally. They are healthier to use in cooking than ordinary salt.
