We recommend Lips Silk with Jojoba Wax now it's the winter months, so the Beeswax version won't be available until it becomes warmer in the Spring.

Lips Silk is one of our top selling organic products.  It's a lovely lip balm that contains organic cocoa and shea butters, with organic avocado oil and vitamin E to ensure your lips remain moisturised without feeling overly greasy.  The moisture-rich natural ingredients will gradually sink into the lips, leaving them feeling soft and silky!  

Lips Silk doesn't contain any fragrances or flavours - we think these just encourage you to lick your lips, which makes them sore and defeats the objective of a good lip balm.  Instead, Lips Silk will coat the lips to give an immediate glossy feeling, but the balm slowly sinks in to provide long lasting moisture and a conditioning feeling that gently soothes away any soreness or chapped lips.

We now have 2 formulations for Lips Silk:

with organic Beeswax - is a firmer formulation for the Summer, so doesn't melt so easily during hot weather

Our main variety of Lips Silk contains organic beeswax.  The organic beeswax gives it a smooth firmer texture but it glides easily onto the lips.   This is the original version of our lip balm (created in 2006), which was phased out several years ago when we switched to using jojoba wax so Lips Silk could also be enjoyed by our vegan customers.  But over the years we've become unhappy with the texture of the jojoba wax formulation since it can become gritty during hot weather.  So we're really pleased to reintroduce this formulation with pure organic beeswax.  The beeswax version has a white label.

The second jojoba wax version of Lips Silk is still available for our vegan customers.  As we've mentioned, this balm can change texture slightly if it's allowed to become too warm.  It feels slightly heavier than the organic beeswax version, but is a great choice during the winter and for vegan customers.  The jojoba wax version has a pink label.

Tubes - 4.5g plastic wind up lip balm tube.

Aluminium Tins - these are a 9g size in an eco-friendly aluminium tin.

These tins are great for anyone who's trying to avoid using plastic containers.  They have a screw top, and you'll need to dig in your fingernail to remove a little balm to apply to the lips.  Remember these are made from metal so will heat up more quickly than the plastic tubes, so do not store anywhere that's too warm otherwise your balm will become very soft and could completely melt!  Aluminium is completely recyclable.

Metal Slider Tin - we're trialling some new flat tins which have a sliding lid and contain 8g of lip balm.

These new tins are another good choice for anyone who's choosing non-plastic packaging.  To open, you slide the top of the tin to the side.  Please note that the current batch of balms has swirled patterns in the the cocoa butter, which has been caused by the organic balms taking longer to cool down in this new design of tin.  The appearance has no impact on how the balm will melt and perform on the lips.
